How to read your MSP Backup Report

Modified on Fri, 2 Jun, 2023 at 12:33 PM

When you receive your backup report, it will be broken down into different categories as shown below.

Backup Plan: This is a description of what you have signed up for with CCSi Communications.

Plan Type: This is the type of plan you have signed up for.

Storage quote Storage used: This is how much storage your data used.

Last successful start: This is the last time the backup was successfully run.

Last start: This is the last attempted start of your backup.

Duration: This is how long it took for the backup to take place.

Next run: When your backup will be attempted again.

Overdue: This indicates if the backup is overdue for running. Take note that if you see this box marked, you should be aware of your next run date so you won't miss it again.

Files copied: This is how many new files were copied in the latest backup.

Files Failed: How many files were not copied?

Data copied: How much new data was copied?

Status: This shows what status your backup is in. You can see various options here.

If the status is successful, it will show Success, as in the example above. However, it can also show Running, Failed, or Overdue.

If you see "Warning" this means that during the backup process some files may have been left open on your PC or server and were not copied. By closing these open files prior to the next scheduled backup should remove the "Warning" status.

If you see "Failed" this is usually due to the computer not being online at the time the backup was taking place.

Please note that your team at CCSi Communications is also reviewing these reports. If we see a Failed status, we will investigate the problem and notify you if there is an issue.
